We’re on week 4 of our series called “Kingdom Inheritance”.
The Purpose of This Series
- To renew our minds and see ourselves as heirs of God.
- To discover what is included in our inheritance.
- To learn how to take our inheritance.
“You and I became heirs to a fortune when we gave our lives to Jesus. We were born again into the richest family ever known. We were born into the royal family that owns and operates the universe. We received an inheritance so vast it will take us all of eternity to fully comprehend it.”
- We are heirs of God.
- We are heirs of God by spiritual birth.
- Joint heirs with Jesus.
Jesus is no longer referred to as the only begotten Son. He is now the Firstborn from the among the dead so there is a 2nd, 3rd and 4th born, etc and we are in there somewhere.
- We are heirs of everything because Jesus was made heir of all things.
- We are heirs of everything NOW. (We partake of our inheritance now not when we get to heaven)
- We are heirs according to the Promise God made with Abraham.
We are in Christ, so we are the seed of Abraham and we are also heirs according to the promise God gave to Abraham.
Abraham’s blessing is your inheritance!
Let’s read it again.
Genesis 12:2-3 NKJV
I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. (Prevent misfortune)
I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.
To fully grasp what God was saying here, you must realize when He blesses someone, He is not just telling them to have a good day.
He is conferring upon them the power to increase and prosper in every area of life.
God conferred upon Abraham the power to increase and prosper in every area of life. And God has done the same for you because you are the seed of Abraham.
According to W.E. Vine and Webster’s dictionary, the true definition of “bless” is ‘to cause to prosper, to make happy, to bestow favor upon, to consecrate to holy purposes, to make successful, to make prosperous in temporal concerns pertaining to this life, to guard and preserve.
Proverbs 10:22 KJV
The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
The Blessing makes us rich. The Blessing makes things happen in our lives.
Abraham was an obedient man. Not a perfect man because he lied twice and said that Sarah is not his wife but his sister.
C’mon guys, don’t choose your sister above your wife. Wives. Don’t choose your brother and family above your husband.
But He was quick to repent and obey God and the covenant continued to prosper him because it was not based on his performance but on the promise.
Listen: The blessing of Abraham will enable you to prosper no matter what’s happening around you. It will cause you to increase in the midst of recessions, depressions and every other kind of economic calamity the devil can dream up.
We looked at how the Blessing prospered Joseph regardless of his conditions and circumstances he found himself in.
Jeremiah 17:5-8 talks about two people, the cursed man and the blessed man. One put his trust in man and he fails, the other puts his trust in the Lord and he prospers. Same conditions but different results.
If you are the seed of Abraham, you shouldn’t even worry about such things. They don’t have to affect you. You are not dependent on the economic cycles of this natural realm.
You are dependent on your covenant with Almighty God—and that never changes! He never alters the Word that comes out of His mouth and He has said you are blessed!
Deuteronomy 28:1-14 NKJV
Blessings on Obedience
Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.
2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God:
3 Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.
4 Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks.
5 Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.
6 Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.
7 The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.
8 The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
9 The Lord will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways.
10 Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you.
11 And the Lord will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the Lordswore to your fathers to give you.
12 The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.
13 And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.
14 So you shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right or the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
This Week!
Let’s continue to see what is ALL included in our inheritance that we’ve received as heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.
A Throne of Glory
1 Samuel 2:8 NKJV
He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the beggar from the ash heap, to set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory. For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and He has set the world upon them.
Glory—The presence of God heavy with everything good.
1 Samuel 2:8 NIV
He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor…
1 Samuel 2:8 NLT
He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump. He sets them among princes, placing them in seats of honor…
That verse changed my life. From the inside out. I can’t see myself as poor anymore. I can’t see myself as needy anymore. I now see myself continually seated in a place of honor, on my seat of honor.
You are poor no more. You are needy no more. You are no longer in the dust. You are no longer on the garbage dump. God has raised you up. God has lifted you up. You are now seated in a place of honor.
When you get a revelation of that scripture, and you start seeing yourself as poor and needy no more, it will take you from the garbage dump to the boardroom in 24 hours.
Let me read it from Psalm 113 where they are quoting it from in 1 Samuel 2.
Psalm 113:7-8 TPT
He promotes the poor, picking them up from the dirt, and rescues the needy from the garbage dump. 8 He turns paupers into princes and seats them on their royal thrones of honor.
You’ve inherited a throne of glory. You’ve inherited a royal throne of honor. Take your rightful place. Take your rightful inheritance.
Psalm 113:7-8 MSG
He picks up the poor from out of the dirt, rescues the forgotten who’ve been thrown out with the trash, Seats them among the honored guests, a place of honor among the brightest and best.
Say this: “Thank You God for picking me up from out of the dirt. Thank You for rescuing me from the trash. I am poor no more, forgotten no more. Thank You for seating me as an honored guest among the brightest and the best.”
Testimony of the lady who blessed Bishop Idahosa with a Snow White Mercedes.
Take Nigeria, for instance. Some years ago, I (Kenneth Copeland) was there preaching at Bishop Benson Idahosa’s church, and he arrived to pick me up for the service in a snow-white Mercedes limousine. It was one of the most beautiful cars I’d ever seen, and in a nation where in those days even a bicycle was considered a luxury, it was a sign and wonder on wheels.
I know how Bishop Idahosa, who has since gone home to be with The LORD, operated in ministry. He lived by faith and taught the people in his church to do the same.
So, I knew there must be a story behind this car. As we drove through the streets, the story began to unfold. Pointing to the ragged-looking peddlers along the roadside, Bishop Idahosa said, “You see those people? They’re selling used motor oil. It’s cleaned up and filtered and then they sell it cheap to people who don’t have enough money to buy new oil.”
I could tell just by looking at them it was a miserable business. The poor selling to the poor, and everyone staying poor in the process. So, Bishop Idahosa’s next statement was a stunner.
“The woman who gave me this car used to be one of those peddlers,” he said. “She was living on pennies a day, but then she got hold of The WORD of God. She found out that Jesus had delivered her from poverty and learned about sowing and reaping. She believed it and started acting on it. Before long, God put her in the real oil business. She went from selling the used stuff to selling the real thing—in a big way!”
I didn’t have to ask him if she was successful at it. I was riding in the answer to that question. Clearly, God had done for that woman what no amount of charitable handouts ever could have. He’d lifted her out of poverty, not by sending people to give her money, but by sending her His WORD to get the poverty out of her!
What is God doing here every week. His Word is getting the poverty mentality out of us.
Jesus never spent His time getting people out of poverty. He spent His time getting poverty out of them.
Proverbs 3:35 NKJV
The wise shall inherit glory, But shame shall be the legacy of fools.
If you act wisely, you will walk in the inheritance of God’s glory but if you act foolishly, shame will be your legacy.
Read a Proverb a day and you will keep foolishness away.
Romans 8:17 NLT
And since we are His children, we are His heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory.
We are heirs of God’s presence, heavy with everything good.
We’ve inherited the Blessing of Abraham.
We’ve inherited a throne of glory, a throne of honor.
Believe that today and receive it.
