Week 5 of our series called “Kingdom Inheritance”.

The Purpose of This Series

  1. To renew our minds and see ourselves as heirs of God.
  2. To discover what is included in our inheritance.
  3. To learn how to take our inheritance.

“You and I became heirs to a fortune when we gave our lives to Jesus. We were born again into the richest family ever known. We were born into the royal family that owns and operates the universe. We received an inheritance so vast it will take us all of eternity to fully comprehend it.”

  • We are heirs of God.
  • We are heirs of God by spiritual birth.
  • Joint heirs with Jesus.
  • We are heirs of everything because Jesus was made heir of all things.
  • We are heirs of everything NOW.
  • We are heirs according to the Promise God made with Abraham.

We said last week that we also inherited…

  1. A Throne of Glory

1 Samuel 2:8 NKJV

He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the beggar from the ash heap, to set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory. For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and He has set the world upon them.

Let us continue to look at what is all included in our inheritance as God’s heirs and joint heirs with Christ.

  1. The Nations

Psalm 2:8 AMPC

Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations as Your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth as Your possession.

Psalm 2:7-8 MSG

Let me tell you what God said next.
He said, “You’re my son,
And today is your birthday.
What do you want? Name it:
Nations as a present? continents as a prize?

Don’t ask small. Ask BIG. Our God is a Big God.

Genesis 41 tells us Abraham’s great-grandson Joseph started out as a slave in the ungodly nation of Egypt. But because he was the seed of Abraham, he ended up saving the nation from being destroyed by famine. Not only that, he became the most powerful man in the nation next to Pharaoh himself. The entire country was blessed because of Joseph and his covenant with God!

As the seed of Abraham, as heirs of God, we’ve inherited the nations.

God loves to choose nobodies and turn them into somebodies.

Joseph was forsaken by his family, rejected by his family.

Joseph was falsely accused by Potiphar’s wife.

Joseph was forgotten by the butler in the prison.

But then his moment came and Joseph was favoured in the palace.

You might be in that place today. Forsaken, Falsely accused, Forgotten. But don’t get bitter and twisted. Don’t give up and quit. Your day of favour, exaltation and being promoted to your palace is coming.

Dreams

Butler had Pharoah’s cup in his hand.

Joseph had Pharoah’s nation in his hand.

Be patient with the process.

Slow and solid instead of fast and fragile.

  1. The Lord

Psalm 16:5 NLT

Lord, You alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing. You guard all that is mine.

Joseph had nobody else but the Lord. Everyone else left him but the Lord was with him always.

The Lord Himself is our inheritance – everything He is, everything He has and everything He can do, He has given it to us. We have inherited everything.

  1. The Earth

Psalm 25:13 NKJV

He himself shall dwell in prosperity, and his descendants shall inherit the earth.

Say, “I am dwelling in prosperity and my children have inherited the earth.”

Psalm 37:11 NKJV

But the meek shall inherit the earth, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

Meek doesn’t mean weak. Meekness is power under control.

Humble people delight themselves in abundance of peace but the proud and arrogant are always uptight and never at peace.

We’ve inherited the earth and it’s accessed by the humble, the meek, those dependent on God.

Matthew 5:5 NKJV

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

Say, “I am meek, I am blessed, and I’ve inherited the earth.”

  1. The Land

Psalm 37:29 NKJV

The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell in it forever.

Joshua 1:6 NIV

Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.

Psalm 16:6 NLT

The land you have given me is a pleasant land. What a wonderful inheritance.

  1. Wealth

Proverbs 8:21 NLT

Those who love me inherit wealth. I will fill their treasuries.

You need God’s wisdom when you have wealth. Wealth without wisdom will destroy you. It will do you more harm than good.

Solomon never asked for wealth. He asked for wisdom to govern God’s people and the wealth was added to him.

Wisdom is filling our treasuries with wealth.

Proverbs 8:20-21 NIV

I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice, bestowing wealth on those who love me and making their treasuries full.

Look where wisdom walks. If you want to find your inheritance of wealth, it’s in the way of righteousness and the paths of justice.

Live uprightly.

It’s not hidden from you; it’s hidden for you. It’s hidden from the wicked.

Wealth with Wisdom is powerful. Wealth with God is powerful.

You can serve God with your money but you can’t serve God and money.

Seek first the Kingdom of God and His way of doing things and being right and all will be added to you.

Proverbs 8:21 AMPC

That I may cause those who love me to inherit true riches and that I may fill their treasuries.

Its God will for your treasuries to be filled with wealth. Pursue God’s wisdom.

Having wealth is part of your inheritance. Don’t leave it on the table.

Eg, Somebody invites you over for dinner. Prepares the meal and sets the table. You come in and say how everything is beautiful and looks lovely and walk out again. What a slap in their face.

That’s what Jesus has done for us. He has prepared everything for us. Come and sit and take your rightful inheritance.

  1. Protection

Isaiah 54:17 NKJV

No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me, says the Lord.

Heritage (HEBREW) = inheritance.

Isaiah 54:17 AMPC

…This peace, righteousness, security, triumph over opposition is the heritage of the servants of the Lord…

Isaiah 54:17 GW

No weapon that has been made to be used against you will succeed. You will have an answer for anyone who accuses you. This is the inheritance of the Lord’s servants. Their victory comes from Me, declares the Lord.

Psalm 118:14 NLT (96)

The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my victory.

Confession!

I am an heir of God.

I am a joint heir with Jesus.

I am an heir of everything now.

I am the seed of Abraham.

The Blessing of Abraham is my inheritance.

I’ve inherited a throne of glory.

I’ve inherited the Nations.

I’ve inherited the Lord.

I’ve inherited the earth.

I’ve inherited the land.

I’ve inherited wealth.

I’ve inherited protection.

I seek first the kingdom of God. I seek first the wisdom of God and all of my inheritance that belongs to me is being added to me. I am the Blessed of the Lord.
