Kingdom Inheritance Series

Take Your Inheritance

We on week 6 of our series called “Kingdom Inheritance” and I’m concluding it today.

The Purpose of This Series

  1. To renew our minds and see ourselves as heirs of God.
  2. To discover what is included in our inheritance.
  3. To learn how to take our inheritance.

You and I became heirs to a fortune when we gave our lives to Jesus. We were born again into the richest family ever known. We were born into the royal family that owns and operates the universe. We received an inheritance so vast it will take us all of eternity to fully comprehend it.

  • We are heirs of God.
  • We are heirs of God by spiritual birth.
  • Joint heirs with Jesus.
  • We are heirs of everything because Jesus was made heir of all things.
  • We are heirs of everything NOW.
  • We are heirs according to the Promise God made with Abraham.

We began looking at some of the things we’ve inherited.

A Throne of Glory

The Lord

The Earth

The Land

Wealth

Protection

Let’s look at a few more today and how to take our inheritance that belongs to us.

We’ve inherited…

  1. Eternal Life

Titus 3:6-7 NLT

He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. Because of His grace He declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.

Both quantity and quality of life.

  1. Eternal life with Jesus.
  2. The quality of life we live here on earth

John 10:10 AMPC

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

  1. The Name of Jesus

Hebrews 1:4 NKJV

Having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

We are joint heirs with Jesus, so we’ve inherited His name. We can use His name in prayer, in this life and walk in victory.

Philippians 2:9-11 NKJV

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,

10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,

11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Mark 16:17-18 NKJV

And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;

18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.

We inherited…

  1. Salvation

Hebrews 1:14 NKJV

Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?

Salvation (GK) = SOTERIA

  1. Deliverance
  2. Preservation
  3. Safety
  4. Health
  5. Save, rescue
  6. God delivers believers out of destruction into His safety.
  7. Prosperity

Hebrews 5:9 NIV

[Jesus] became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey Him.

He is the source of our eternal salvation (deliverance, safety, preservation, health, prosperity).

  1. The Promises of God

Hebrews 6:12 NKJV

That you do not become sluggish but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Don’t be slow-moving in taking the promises of God. Have some energy and go after what belongs to you.

The promises of God causes you to partake of God’s divine nature, your full inheritance, and it causes you to escape all the corruption and mess that is in this world.

2 Peter 1:4 NKJV

By which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Take it ALL

It’s time to take it all and don’t leave anything on the table. Sometimes God has a hard time getting His kids to the table.

Psalm 23:5 NKJV

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies…

Joshua 18:1-3 NKJV

Now the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of meeting there. And the land was subdued before them. But there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes which had not yet received their inheritance. Then Joshua said to the children of Israel: “How long will you neglect to go and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers has given you?

Verse 1 – The land” had already been conquered.

Their full inheritance was available to them.

It included all of their covenant benefits.

Verse 2 – Seven tribes had not yet taken their inheritance.

Verse 3 – Slack (KJV); (Neglect NKJV) (HEB) = lazy, slow to move

Joshua 18:3 MSG

How long are you going to sit around on your hands, putting off taking possession of the land that God…has given you?

I Have a Great Storehouse: Word from the Lord through Kenneth Copeland, Washington, D.C. Victory Campaign, November 10, 2011

“I have a great storehouse. Much more has been stored up in the storehouse of riches beyond your wildest dream that I laid up for you before the foundation of the world. Much more is stored up there than what the Church has ever called for.

I never have held back on the Church, saith The LORD and the God of plenty. I’ve made it available to you. I put it in My WORD. I gave you promise and stood behind it with the blood—the precious blood of your Savior.

But there has been a backwardness in My people about laying hold of the things that I have provided for you.

But I will say this: There is a people in the land. There is a people around the world. There is a people strong and mighty, growing much stronger and much mightier and more bold to lay hold and put their claim of faith on the things that I have laid up for you. And it thrills me, saith The LORD, because it’s been yours all the time.”

How Do We Take Our Inheritance?

We boldly claim it by faith.

Hebrews 11:33 NLT

By faith these people overthrew kingdoms, ruled with justice, and received what God had promised them.

Hebrews 11:33 MSG

Through acts of faith, they toppled kingdoms, made justice work, took the promises for themselves.

Faith calls in the inheritance.

Romans 4:16-24 NKJV

16 Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all

17 (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;

18 who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.”

19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God,

21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.

22 And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”

23 Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him,

24 but also for us…

  1. Call (GK) KALEO = summons
  2. Order, edict, command
  3. “You are hereby summoned to appear.”

Our Confession as Heirs of God

I am a child of the King.

I became heir to His fortune when I was born again.

I am an heir of God and a joint heir with Jesus.

Everything He has belongs to me.

It is included in my inheritance.

I take all by faith in Jesus’ Name!
