This Is Love

Romans 5:5 NKJV

Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

If we want to grow spiritually and be able to fellowship with God, and walk with God, we must learn to walk in the Love of God.

I am not referring to natural human love but God’s Divine love. (Natural human love can turn into hate overnight).

God is Love (1 John 4:16) and when we got born-again, God became our Father. He is a Love God and we are love children of a Love God.

Say…”God is Love and so am I.”

If we are born of God and God is Love, then we are born of Love. The nature of God is in us and the nature of God is Love.

We have this Divine Love in us.

It was poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit.

Say this, “I have God’s Divine Love in me”. Confess it all the time.

We can’t say we don’t have this Divine Love. It’s in us. Everyone in the family has it or else they are not in the family.

They may not be exercising it. They may not be practicing it.

They may be like the one guy who buried his talent in the ground (Matthew 25:24-25).

But the God kind of Love is in our spirits.

It is natural for us, spiritually speaking, to walk in Love.

But if I let my outward man (flesh) and my mind dominate me, that love nature in my heart is kept prisoner, so to speak.

We must let our inward man where the Love of God is, dominate is. We must be love-ruled.

We must stir up and release the Love of God that’s within us.

Don’t ever say, “I hate that person”. Say, “I love that person”.

Brother Hagin talks of the woman who kept saying, “I hate my Mother in law.”

1 John 3:14-15 NKJV

14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love [a]his brother abides in death. 15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

When you release the Love of God into a situation or towards a person, you are releasing God, because God is Love? He then becomes responsible for fixing it. All of heaven will back you up.

But when you fight in the flesh, fight back and decide to give them a piece of your mind, you will fight alone.

Romans 12:17-21 NKJV

Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.

Beloved, do not avenge yourselves; but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay”, says the Lord.

Therefore; “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

David chooses to walk in love.

Saul was jealous of David. He hated him and wanted to kill him but David chose to honour Saul and walk in love towards him.

The result: God established David as the next king.

1 Samuel 24:12-20 NKJV

12 Let the Lord judge between you and me, and let the Lord avenge me on you. But my hand shall not be against you. 13 As the proverb of the ancients says, ‘Wickedness proceeds from the wicked.’ But my hand shall not be against you.

14 After whom has the king of Israel come out? Whom do you pursue? A dead dog? A flea? 15 Therefore let the Lord be judge, and judge between you and me, and see and plead my case, and deliver me out of your hand.”

16 So it was, when David had finished speaking these words to Saul, that Saul said, Is this your voice, my son David?” And Saul lifted up his voice and wept.

17 Then he said to David: “You are more righteous than I; for you have rewarded me with good, whereas I have rewarded you with evil.

18 And you have shown this day how you have dealt well with me; for when the Lord delivered me into your hand, you did not kill me.

19 For if a man finds his enemy, will he let him get away safely? Therefore may the Lord reward you with good for what you have done to me this day.

20 And now I know indeed that you shall surely be king, and that the kingdom of Israel shall be established in your hand.

What God did for David, He will do for you. If you want God to raise you up and set you in high places, then you need to do it God’s way, the love way, the more excellent way.

It might look as if you are weak. You’re not standing up for yourself. You are allowing others to walk all over you.

But no! It’s a strength. Jesus is standing up for you. He has your back. You are choosing the more excellent way and you will not fail.

The love of God is the more excellent way.

1 Corinthians 12:31 NKJV

But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.

Walking in love is a fail-proof lifestyle.

This is a Love family. Jesus said in…

John 13:34-35 NKJV

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.

How are people going to know that we are God’s children? By the love we have for one another!

They will not know by our prophesying, or by our speaking in tongues, or by our going to church every week. They will know that we are part of the Family by the love we have for one another.

The key indicator of spiritual growth in the life of a Christian is his or her love walk. To say that you are a believer and not demonstrate the fruit of love in your life is a contradiction.

Love is what distinguishes your salvation. Love is the distinguishing mark that we are God’s children.

You have to evaluate your salvation if the fruit of love is not seen in your life.

Practice God’s love.

Don’t practice anger, practice God’s love.

You need to practice walking in the love of God on the job, in the mall and especially at home.

No man has seen God, but when you walk in love, man sees God through you.

1 John 4:12 NKJV

No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.

The love law of the family of God is “..that you love one another; as I have loved you..” (John 13:34)

How did He love us? Because we deserved it? No!

He loved us while we were still sinners. He loved us while we were still unlovely.

Romans 5:8 NKJV

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8 AMPC

“But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us.”

If you were looking for proof and confirmation that God loves, there’s your proof. When He sent Jesus to die for us and take our place.

God now requires us to love our Brothers and Sisters with the same love and in the same way that He loved us.

Sometimes they don’t deserve to be loved. Sometimes they don’t deserve to be treated well, but neither did we deserve it.

God wants us to extend the same grace to others that we received from Him and expect to receive from others.

Ephesians 4:31-32 NKJV

“Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”

“Gracing one another, even as God in Christ graced you.”

God enables us through His love to love the unlovable, not in our own strength but in His Strength. Not in our ability but in His Ability. Not in our natural human love but through His supernatural love that is in us.

Simple Prayer of Forgiveness!

Forgiving someone isn’t a special favor to your enemies. It isn’t justifying what they’ve done, and it doesn’t even indicate a restored relationship.

In fact, forgiveness isn’t something that happens between you and another person—it is an actual transaction between you and God. It is a quiet, personal transformation in your heart, and it gives God room to take care of justice on your behalf.

Andrew Murray said, “As bread is the first need of the body, so forgiveness for the soul.”

Whenever people mistreat you—pray for them. Pray that they will be blessed in this life, that God will help them where they need it most, that they will receive His love and be a blessing to others.

Maybe they have deep hurts in their hearts causing them to behave so badly—pray that God will heal those hurts and set them free.

Pray this simple prayer whenever you think of those who have hurt you:

“God, You love ________, so I love __________. I forgive him/her, and I ask You to help me love him/her with the God kind of love. I pray that they will be blessed in this life, that You will help them where they need it most, and that they will receive Your love and be a blessing to others. Where they have deep hurts in their hearts, I pray God that You will heal those hurts and set them free, in Jesus Name. Amen.”

As you continue to pray this prayer as a declaration of faith, you will begin to feel something transforming in your heart and moving over into love.
